Blois, a Loire town, has a very specific urban configuration because at the jonction of two valleys, the Arrou’s and the Loire’s, so the urban landscape is heckled by the topography. Pedestrians, motorists and tourists all use the same public space, which has to be suitable for all uses.
The study is organized around two main axes, the central axis from the train station to the Wilson avenue, and the axis of the north embankment of the Loire. The study also covers a wider area to make different scenarios of traffic in the city center and in the adjacent districts.
The purpose of the study is to create new public spaces that can simplify the traffic in the city center while revealing the heritage of the urban landscape, and to create a new relationship between the city and its river, la Loire.
