THE COMMAND
The city of Montrésor, located in the south of the Touraine benefits from a singular patrimonial scenography, thanks to the setting-up of the village in its landscape. The village was build on a headland around the castle, and below pours the Indrois river. From the banks of the Indrois we discover the village through a succession of panoramas, emphasizing successively gardens, rooftops, and of course the church and the castle. This walk of 530 m, offers nice panoramas on the northside but also pleasant view to the South, with the easily flooded meadow and punctuations as a big pine or the wall of a former vegetable garden. The project aim is to improve the global course, adding elements as:
- An appropriate signage at each end of the way
- A course accessible to all (slope) and in any season
- A development of points of view
- A picnic area
- Toilets
- Fishing pontoons
THE APROACH
Our approach is to create public places which facilitate the uses and emphasize the heritage existing with a permanent concern of the project economy. Beyond the cost, we care about respecting the rural character by the use of large-scale simple materials, which can be coupled with punctual qualitative interventions.
