Special park of Zletan, Libya

This park of 4.5 ha is situated in 120 km east of Tripoli in the city of Zletan, in 3 km of the Mediterranean Coasts. This national park has to answer a need of place reserved for the women, where they can have sports, social and cultural activities in a quiet place.

The site is a plot of land in strong slope in belvedere on the city, offering interesting distant sights but having the inconvenience to be also « in the view « from the city and the south orientation.

The project leaned on this relief to create levels of intimacy, crossed glances, games of plans and alcoves letting see without being seen. This park develops the notions of preciosity, comfort, intimacy, sensualism and generosity.

The architecture becomes integrated into enclosing walls creating thickness and passageways, and developing the vault module as a language declined in the whole of the park.
